Crystal Coffin - Ride Through the Night - Song Review - Stoner Death Metal from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
Today we are featuring a promising stoner death metal band, Crystal Coffin, based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. I have reviewed one of their songs, Ride Through the Night, along with its character, style, story, potential, and more.
Crystal Coffin is a promising band with an exceptional blend of black, death, stoner, hard, and progressive metal elements. I discovered them about some time ago, but this time, they came to my attention with, "Ride Through the Night", off from their debut album "The Transformation Room" released on September 14, 2021. Now, please give the song a listen while reading the rest of the article.
Crystal Coffin first caught my attention with their sound, then image, and then I wished this song was submitted to me with a music video rather than the song alone. I have to admit that these Canadian gentlemen have a very bright image in my eyes in general, and they deserve good things with their personality in their solid sound above everything else. I have never heard of such a badass old-school progressive/biker rock tone with stoner rock and death metal elements in it. I am a die-hard Death fan myself, and it is a quite big deal for me when Crystal Coffin reminded me of them, especially Chuck Schuldiner.
The composition is intelligently written, not based on any bullshit, mostly on the flow and the dynamics of the song. All these details were well thought and consciously decided (just listen to the flow from the beginning to the end you'll easily understand what I'm trying to say). I don't like when most artists and bands release their work without any depth lately, which doesn't have any artistic value in my eyes. The math is simple my friends, if you don't add value to your work, don't expect that from your listeners. That's one of the reasons Crystal Coffin makes a difference, and I am delighted to discover such potential.
Technically, Ride Through the Night has everything I want to hear from my favorite bands. They sound traditional, original, whereas this sound has a lot of credit on this successful outcome at the same time. This mix made this song fantastic, together with the valid musical idea of the band. I see very strong parts coming together here in their case, and we don't see this happening very often.
When I take all these into account, I'd like to say that I am truly impressed by Crystal Coffin. They look great, make fantastic music, and I'm sure they are great guys as well. I am wishing them a long career, cause we definitely will come across and have a beer together somewhere in Europe on one of their shows if they continue making music like this.
Please go ahead and check out the links below if you'd like to find out more about the artist/band, follow them on social media, subscribe to their channels to show your support, and not miss any upcoming releases.
