Vela – Cult of the Mountain Song Review – Metalhead Community

Today we are featuring an exceptional death metal band; Vela, from Baltimore, the USA. We have reviewed their groundbreaking song; Cult of the Mountain, along with its character, style, story, potential and more.

Vela is another promising math/progressive/melodic death metal band I have discovered through Metalhead Community Submissions about three weeks ago with this very song; Cult of the Mountain, off from their latest release with the same title, which was released on 2019. The album; Cult of the Mountain, musically and technically has exceptional standards which made it possible for these young gentlemen to express their feelings through their aggressive music. What can I say, the music is simply irresistible. The energy immediately catches full attention and pulls the listener into its world. What I liked the most in this song were their creativity and composing skills. Not everybody can write compositions this intelligent and creative, also turn these sentences into something meaningful.

The song begins with galloping guitar riffs which reminded me of some thrash bands from the ’90s. We all love hearing this familiar sound. After listening to the first minute you realize the song is not only structured on vocal melodies or on a few guitar riffs as we used to hear from almost every band out there. They have beautifully joined all these pieces together and all of the instruments are like pillars holding this magnificent piece of work. Every single element has a role they play with a beautiful balance. This, in my book, is unique. I am listening to tons of new music every single day and I can easily say that Vela is making the difference with these.

As I have also mentioned above, Cult of the Mountain, technically has top class standards in every way. It simply sounds monstrous. Period. Guitars are super powerful, vocals are extremely well polished, everything sounds super clean, clear, natural, very well balanced, mixed, mastered and most importantly, in great harmony. They are on the right track in finding their own authentic sound, in my opinion. The band has so many great things about their music. Once they will sound more characteristic with their music, then nobody can stand in their way to the top. When I take all these into account, I’d like to say that Vela has exceeded my expectations with their standards. This release will surely be one small step for man, one giant leap for Vela.

Please go ahead and check out the links below if you’d like to find out more about the band, follow them on social media and subscribe to their channels to show your support and also not to miss any upcoming releases.
