Nathan Cimino – Right Song Review

Today we are featuring another promising shoegaze artist, NATHAN CIMINO, from Costa Mesa, the USA. We have reviewed his addictive song, RIGHT, along with its character, style, story, potential, and more.

Nathan Cimino is a promising shoegaze/alternative music artist I discovered two months ago with this addictive song, Right, released as a single in 2020. For those who haven’t heard about the artist before, “Right” is Nathan Cimino’s first official release. Now, please give the song a listen while reading the rest of the article.

Right is a very successful work, an easy listening song with an irresistible atmosphere, addictive and powerful vibes. As you can also remember from some of the previous articles, I love listening to easy-going alternative music. Nathan Cimino’s music, in this way, was a perfect fit for my specific taste. The song has dark and powerful vibes in general, leaving its taste in your memory. The music’s overall feeling reminded me of some golden songs from the 90s, more specifically from bands like Depeche Mode, No Doubt, REM, Coldplay, etc… Surely, Nathan Cimino is the darkest version of all.

On the other hand, the instrumentation here is one of the signatures of Nathan. I am happy that he has decided to keep everything as simple as possible. This song, to me, is all about the overall flow and the feeling. Also, the song sounded much more European than American to me. If I didn’t know anything about the artist, I’d say it’s French. All these characteristics I mentioned make the difference for Nathan Cimino. He has already exceeded all our expectations with the simplicity and the foundations of his beautiful music.

Technically, Right has satisfying standards for me in every way. For music like this, I don’t feel like going too much into technical details. The only thing I can say that the nostalgic/old-school character of the song is fantastic. This is undoubtedly one of the crucial decisions that made the song this special, in my opinion.

When I take all these into account, I’d like to say that I am quite impressed by Nathan Cimino. Right is a fantastic debut to his professional career, and I hope it will be the beginning of a long successful journey!

RIGHT has earned its place in our TOP ALTERNATIVE SONGS PLAYLIST.
