Kid Travis is an up-and-coming r&b, rap, alternative music artist with an incredible rise in his music career. I discovered Kid Travis about 2 months ago with his cover of one of the most popular songs in history, Beggin’. Now, please give the song a listen while reading the rest of the article.
I remember the times when a cover version of Beggin’ was released by Madcon in 2007, stormed the entire world in every media channel, and maintained its position for a few seasons. Strangely, I heard of Kid Travis‘s music for the first time on a radio station while driving in Istanbul. I wasn’t expecting this song to be submitted to Metalhead Community right afterward.
Easy listening music has never been this much popular as it is nowadays. Although there are so many stations that are regularly playing only easy listening hotel/cafe music, seems to me like we’ve also developed a mood that makes you feel like listening to this music. I am sure so many of us do while having Sundays at home with our families.
The song has a beautiful build, structured with easy listening and natural-sounding instrumentation, and became irresistible with a characteristic voice and world-class production.
On the other hand, Kid Travis has the necessary voice and skill to make this a success at the same time. Not everybody can perform this song and make a hit out of it. In this way, Kid Travis has done a fine job. Not messing with the song’s origins, only changing the instrumentation and the general style, this song is once again alive for everybody, not only for clubbers.
