Fly Felix – Fear and Love Song Review – Metalhead Community

Today we are featuring another promising indie rock artist; Fly Felix, from Texas, the USA. We have reviewed his exciting latest release; Fear and Love, along with its character, style, story, potential and more.

Fly Felix is another promising name, an indie rock artist I have discovered through Metalhead Community Submissions about three weeks ago with this very song; Fear and Love, off from his latest single release with the same title, which was released on 2019. The artist on this example is showing potential with his rich instrumentation, the non-standard musical ideas in the composition and his character in his music. I read about Fly Felix a little bit and found out he actually was a Dj. Although I am not a big fan of what they mostly do, they have great knowledge about the atmosphere and the energy in the music. As you can also hear on Fear and Love, the song has advanced standards in post-production.

The song is mostly based on a few ideas, supported with amazing ambiance and energy that immediately catches full attention and pulls the listener into its world. The general vibe is dark, mysterious but romantic at the same time. I personally loved the dark atmosphere. He has a tender voice and the atmosphere perfectly fits his vocal style. On the other hand, all the additional electronic instruments come from his Dj background. You might remember that I am an anti-electronic music guy, especially in rock and metal. But I didn’t feel anything unnecessary while listening to this song. In other words, the song feels complete. It gives you a satisfying fresh feeling. Everything was done properly so you don’t even have to go into the details about it.

Fly Felix - Fear and Love Song Review - 01

Technically, Fear and Love has exceptional standards as well. The song was recorded and produced perfectly. The specific job they have done with the production is supporting the main idea of the song; fear and love, which is brilliant. You don’t see this happening very often. Most of the time producers are making everything sound great without taking the character of the artist into account. In other words, they are doing what they know best. But this doesn’t mean they have what the artist requires. In this example, every single detail in this piece of work is expressing the character in the sound. So when I take all these into account, I can say that this is a very successful piece of work. Fly Felix is showing great potential with his abilities and his persona in his music that will surely open many doors for him in the future.

Fear and Love has earned its place in Metalhead Community’s TOP ROCK SONGS PLAYLIST on Spotify as well.
