Akiata - Dreams - Song Review - Retro Alternative Prog-Rock from USA
Today I am writing about a promising alternative prog-rock band; Akiata, from USA with; Dreams, one of their singles released in 2022.
Dreams introduced me to Akiata for the first time about some time ago, and they simply had that retro alternative rock/shoegaze sound to catch my full attention. The work deserves appreciation for its established sound quality and character, blending Queen, Pink Floyd, Porcupine Tree, and Toto vibes in a familiar, retro, and easy-listening way on the musical side. The music genre and sound design have a strong bond together, making each other better and definitely creating something more meaningful together.
The song stands out with its simplicity above everything else although it has considerable complexity in its instrumentation and production. As I said earlier, it is an easy-listening alternative rock song with shoegaze and retro progressive rock vibes, you get the impression that Akiata can be shoegaze, alternative rock, a progressive rock band, or even a combination of all.
On the other side of the coin, this time I've got no weaknesses to mention.

When I put all these into account, I'd like to say that I had a good time listening to Dreams. Easy-listening, alternative rock song with a modern sound in retro character, musically blending influences from Queen, Pink Floyd, Porcupine Tree, and Toto. Thanks for reading.
