The Unbroken is a promising traditional metal band I have discovered through Metalhead Community Submissions about 3 months ago with their electrifying song; Suffering in Silence, off from their debut EP album; Human Crown, which was released in 2019. This is the band’s first official release, a promising EP with 5 songs. First of all, I’d like to say that Suffering in Silence has way too good standards than I’d usually expect hearing from an up and coming band. So this is giving me the feeling that either these American gentlemen are very experienced musicians came together and started this super fresh project altogether or they’ve finally had the chance to make an official release after being together for a very long time. Both ways, this is a very promising work. Hands down.
Suffering in Silence is a 4 minutes long song with an easy listening structure, which automatically adds commercial/mainstream potential to it. When you think about the song in general, it is making the actual difference with its overall dynamics, energy flow, exceptional sound quality, production along with its addictive groove all along the way. The band has a character in their music, which immediately reminded me of the legend of traditional heavy music; Motorhead. The Unbroken sounds like the heavier version of Motorhead, especially on this song.
On the other hand, I can see that they have decided to keep everything simple, while focusing more on the overall impact, energy and the live performing side of the work, where they are quite brilliant at. I know that there are so many bands out there with a very similar traditional metal music. And as you also know that in this specific music genre people usually expect to feel the energy rather than innovative thinking, and I respect that. We all have our own reasons for listening to specific music style after all and Suffering in Silence is a perfect fit for those who loves listening to some badass rock’n’roll/metal stuff!
