Blinded By Hope - The Fool - Song Review - Modern Metal from Adelaide, Australia. Metalhead Community Magazine.

Today we are featuring a promising modern metal band, Blinded By Hope, from Adelaide, Australia. I have reviewed their single, The Fool, along with its character, style, story, and potential.

Blinded By Hope is a modern metal band with modern influences in both their technicality and musicality. The briefest way, they are the less aggressive combination of Meshuggah instrumentation and Devin Townsend and TesseracT musicality. The band is only making releases since 2021, and The Fool is where we took a look to find out more about their potentials and approach.

I listened to the song a few times before writing my review as I usually do. First of all, I'd like to start with the main reason that we have Blinded By Hope with us is because of their solid personality in their music. Although they are modern and have modern progressive djent metal elements in their music, the band has successfully separated themselves from other bands with their specific blend.

Furthermore, the instrumentation is quite linear, just accompanies the vocal melody from the beginning to the end. The song in general stands out with its vocal lines, and this is where Blinded By Hope makes the actual difference. The origins in their vocal lines don't sound like anything we used to hear from metal bands at all. In fact, they are quite non-metal if you listen to it carefully. Some people might disagree with me on this but I value people who can bring something new to their genre. In this case, although Blinded By Hope doesn't offer something never done before in The Fool, they have all the right signals of a band with potential.

Technically, The Fool doesn't have any weaknesses in my opinion. Although it sounds too digital and computerized to my ears, it establishes the connection with the listener. Atmospheric parts are fantastic, vocals stand out and give the chills. And everything is perfectly blended. For instance, when you think about the modern progressive metal scene, most bands have huge similarities in the sound personality in their music. Blinded By Hope has made the statement that they will rather focus on their own sound, and this is the level they've got only in their first professional musical careers. I respect that.

When I take all these into account, I'd like to say that I've had a good time listening to Blinded By Hope. They have reminded me of some of my personal favorite progressive musicians/bands, definitely worth your attention if you are into progressive metal.
